Denarau Island Fiji
Entrance Gateway at Denarau Island in Fiji
|
|
The way in to Denarau Island combines a road causeway, and then through an entrance portal built in traditional Fijian style, with impressive thatched roof, and sturdy hardwood pillars decorated with 'magi magi' (sinnet cord) in decorative designs.
Smiling Fijian gateway security attendants bid you a smiling 'bula' welcome as you pass through to the tropical island that offers 5-star beachside resort accommodation, restaurants, Port Denarau marina for transfers to outer islands, exclusive residential estates, championship 18 hole golf course and tennis courts, and more! A regular Bula Bus service provides guest with free connections around the island.
This side of the entrance gateway can be seen a sculpture depicting the logo of Denarau Island, two interwoven profiles of herons; water birds that are natural residents of the island.
